One of the smartest people I know who have made the transition from paper to electrons is Phil Baker. His blog “From Concept to Consumer” is part of my regular reading. Phil wrote a great article last month looking at luggage warranties. Now he didn’t cover all the brands that we’d like to see. He also had some help from the folks at Briggs & Riley; a company that really does completely stand by their product and offer one of the best warranties in the business. This article really adds much needed detail if you are considering a purchase and the “lifetime warranty” is going to be worth the cost.

J Peterman Counterfeit Mailbag
The folks at the J. Peterman Company are having a great contest with the prize being one of their gorgeous leather Counterfeit Mailbags stuffed with $5000 USD cash. There is no purchase necessary and you can enter as many times as you’d like (once per day) now through December 3rd.
Does J. Peterman sound familiar? Yes, that’s the place where Elaine from Seinfeld (see: Seinfeld – The Complete Series) worked. The site lives up to the image created by the show. On that show the Peterman product descriptions were made out to be very long and elaborate. Looking at this product and others on their site; they really aren’t. In fact I liked the site in that it offered detailed dimensions for this and other bags that are offered.
Check out the site Free Shipping dot org for information and some special coupons good for free or reduced cost shipping this holiday season.
We checked to see how many laptop bag and accessory manufacturers were listed. In general many of the major online stores (such as Amazon) were there but we couldn’t find the individual manufacturers there (yet).
We should point out that the folks over at eBags (shameless plug!) offer free shipping all year round!
